It's probably your speedo cable, but it's best to check first. Trace the speedo cable inside the engine bay down to where it screws in the gearbox. There's a knuled nut that holds it in. Use pliers to loosen it, then unscrew it completely. Pull it up where you can see it and there should be a squarish looking inner piece of spring-like material. That's the part that spins inside the jacket and drives your speedo. Is it all messed up like it was stripped? Try to turn it by hand. It should turn fairly easily with some resistance. You should have someone check the speedo itself while you turn it to see if the needle deflects. Try both directions. If it spins and the needle doesn't work- bad cable. If it spins and the needle does deflect...hmmm... could be the plastic drive gear inside the gearbox is stripped. Not so good! If that appears to be the problem, get back to the forum here and we can go from there.
I don't believe you'll be able to find a universal fit. Either someone will sell you a used one, or try fleabay. Not sure if skandix has them...
Let us know what you find.

PS- since you have your speedo pulled out anyway, you may want to remove the whole cable and test it on the bench.
