When resurfacing a flywheel do you need to resurface the pressure plate a corresponding abount? I'm reassembling the clutch assembly and the pressure plate thickness does not seem correct. I had the flywheel resurfaced, and it came back with both the inner surface where the clutch disk resides, and the outer surface (where the pressure plate mounts) recut. I do not know if both surfaces were cut the same depth. With a new clutch plate installed, if I mount the pressure plate, the pressure is enough that the center hub of the pressure plate assembly is fully compressed. The difference is about 1/8" of height. I'm considering having the pressure plate cut down a corresponding amount, but that would remove nearly half of the thickness. The other option would be to use washers to space the plate out from the surface of the flywheel. Any suggestions one way or another?
