here is some other theorys you may want to check. I had this problem before and it was a spark problem. one of my wires was loose and this caused it to run on 3 cylenders at idle because there was not enough spark and once you gave it gas it created enough spark. I would also check your carb, you may have something in the idle jet. Also check your vacume return. good luck.
