Interesting they no longer say they have them. Here's the short article I wrote up about my process with them. (You might want to see if Dan is still there and remembers...)

Last fall as I was perusing some catalogs for Christmas gift ideas, I pored over one from State of Nine. They deal primarily with Saabs of the 3 & 4 digit mold – and I have a Sonett III & a 99e. Nice items throughout but their section on floor mats caught my attention because it indicated actually had carpet for my 97. I circled two types for Sandy Claws to consider – regular front floor mats and “Rubbertite” floor mats because of the tendency to get moisture at times here in Oregon. This was back in September/October.
In November, my wife came to me and said that she had tried to get mats for me and had been exchanging emails with the State of Nine folks and came to find out that they did NOT have mats for the 2-digit folks – small typo in their catalog – but that they were intrigued to be able to provide them for me. Sooo – I got into the email loop, and worked with Dan de Vlieger at State of Nine. I said that I would be happy to simply send him cardboard template so that they could create a “master” from which to add to their database going forward. Dan asked a telling question of me; “Are there still folks who drive that old of a Saab – and could there be a market for carpets for them?” I endeavored to fill in the blanks for him about the Vintage Saab Club of North America, etc., and said that I would guarantee at least one purchase of said carpet – mine!
Dan said he’d be glad to make the process work for me and asked if I could also take a couple of pictures “before/after” so they could possibly include them in their catalog. No problem. Fast forward: Sandy Claws gave me the set of front mats – shipped to my wife’s law-office to still nominally be a surprise for me.
Big Bummmer!! The driver side mat was made backwards!! The “notch” where the gas pedal rod anchors to the floor was on the wrong side (even though I had marked the cardboard template properly. I could easily flip the carpet over and that worked – but obviously the plush was on the wrong side… A couple of more emails ensued. Dan was VERY apologetic & gracious and offered to redo the mats at no-charge and said I could also keep the originals. Good guy there! All is cool.
I then inquired if Dan would be willing to do one for the rear of the Sonett. That process worked slick. I actually sent them the original rear carpet which they copied, made a new carpet, and returned both the new & original to me. The carpets (and Rubbertite mats) are of excellent quality & fit. I’ll have no qualms about using State of Nine in the future.
The pictures really don’t do them justice, as the original mats were not really “bad,” just a tad worn.
