Wow, a thousand thank-you's! Bought the Ashcraft clutch and pressure plate, only to learn that I would need to send the pressure plate back so they can shim the springs. Figured I could adjust it out but couldn't get the clutch to stop grinding in reverse - a bad sign that I was also wearing out the synchro. Asked Jack, who said the ONLY solution was to pull the engine again and send in the pressure plate. The washer did the job in 10 minutes that would have taken me a few days, more skinned knuckles, and a couple bills. I learned that two washers were too much but one was just right.
