Jetta wheels?

One question that comes up fairly often is possible sources for substitute 5-bolt wheels, for those of us who'd prefer something wider/smaller/different from our soccerballs or standard 96 steel rims. Whenever I've researched this I've always come up dry, finding that the Saab bolt pattern is just too weird to match up with anything else. (According to the Saab Club Nederland website, the specs of the Saab wheels are 100mm between the bolt centers, for a bolt circle radius of 86mm.)
Well... last night at the service station I watched the wheels being changed on a VW Jetta, and noticed that it uses the same lug bolt (instead of lug nut) system as a Sonett... and today I cruised the Internet a bit and found an ad listing of some wheels for sale for a Jetta GLX VR6, noting that these wheels had a "5x100" bolt pattern.
Could it be????... that this would be the same as the 5 bolt/100mm center spacing pattern as Saab, and that the wheels would interchange?!?!?!?
If anyone happens to have access to a Jetta GLX and a tape measure for a little quick research, I for one would sure be interested to know what you find out!!
