You can get some maintenance parts -- gasket sets etc. -- through a Ford Industrial Power dealer. However, as my local industrial-engine parts dealer told me last time, these are getting to be pretty old engines, and parts aren't as easy to come by as they used to be. Ford itself doesn't seem to supply a lot of them anymore -- several of my recent items have come in packaging indicating they were sourced through the New Holland (tractor) parts system!... not too surprising as one of the US applications for the V4 was driving irrigation pumps.
For internal engine parts and other major stuff, you'll really be better off working with a vintage-Saab specialist. If you're in the US, check the parts classifieds and links on this site. A few of the choices with whom I've done business personally and have been happy with the results include: West of Sweden Saab (Chip Lamb) - good source for assorted new and NOS driveline, hydraulic, and other parts and advice; Vintage Saab Life Support (Dan & Bill Yudchitz) - have a barnful of old Sonetts and supply used parts at reasonable prices; Motor Sport Services of Jamestown, NY (Jack Lawrence) - supplier of competition engines & parts and expert at performance modifications and machine work; Jack Ashcraft - source for new reproduction chassis sheetmetal and hard-to-find restoration parts. And while they most likely can't score a crankshaft for you, Saab dealers can still order a surprising range of factory original parts, although you may have to hunt a bit to find a cooperative parts person willing to make the effort.
If you go to Norway a lot, though, you may have an easier time than most of us: V4-powered Saabs were sold new in Europe and Scandinavia all the way up until 1980, so mainstream auto parts stores there may carry items that would be hard-to-find exotica in the US.
Good luck and have fun!
