71 Sonett, to buy or not?

about every 18months a Sonett shows up within 75miles of my home. I am currently without, and someday.......
so in the paper this last week:
1972(?) Saab Sonett III, classic collectable, runs, needs work, $1000.
Went to look at it this AM. It is way out of town, and in AZ that means the big bad desert. Tough to get people to look at it? The VIN#71500095. Pretty low vin for a 1971. The only rust was the battery tray or lack there of. Otherwise none, I could even see alot of the original black chassis paint on the pan. Shock towers all good, wheel wells good, etc. The seats and headliner shot. Orange. Steel wheels. Probably a true AZ car.
The car comes with a shed full of spare parts, motor, alloy rims, etc. Probably enough to get another motor to run.
The windshield had $2000 on it. The paper said $1000. They move out of state this coming Friday.
Is offering $500 TOO insulting. Right next to it was a Z28 with a big bottle of NOS in the trunk!
It needs a battery, brake master cylinder, and a fuel line, then maybe it drives.
Comments? Kick in the heads?
BTW,
also trying to get running
1960 Mercedes 190Db (for market runs)
1985 Saab 900T (to sell)
1986 Saab 900T (scrap after I pull motor)
could have too full a plate, might need marriage counseling!
