our SAAB on the road. With help from his brothers and father, Robert has been 

doing repair on european cars since his mid teens. As an added bonus his shop 

is in the "little Italy" quarter with many good restaurants.

Bjarne is a SAAB Master Mechanic who has been operating an 

excellent independent service facility for many years. He is one of the best 

diagnosticians for SAAB cars in the region! Other brands of vehicle are also 

serviced there however Bjarne has access to used and new parts primarily for 

SAAB cars. I personally have never seen a vehicle older than a SAAB 99 model 

in the shop.

A family business, Ellis Autodrome has been selling and servicing Saabs since

1978. They were a full-fledged Saab dealer until the mid 80's when the

distributors put Saturn-Saab-Isuzu together. Roy Ellis decided to let the

dealership go, but concentrated on servicing, repairing, and rebuilding Saabs

of all vintages. I have owned three Saabs sold and serviced by Ellis(1978

99T(still drive), 1985 900T, and most recently, my beloved 1995 9000Aero).

Saab-owners from Calgary, BC and Sask drive the distance to buy and service

there in Lethbridge, Alberta! Always honest, knowledgeable, fair, first-rate

work and great people to deal with! Roy Ellis, Jack Isaac, Melanie Isaac, and

Craig Ellis are all dedicated Saab lovers!

It is my opinion that Bob Young operates The primary automotive repair

business in Vancouver "exclusively for Saabs". He is a very patient mechanic

with one of the cleanest and most orderly garages I have ever seen. Judging

from the variety of Saabs of various vintages one could find in his shop for

repair at any given time he has the necessary experience and expertise

required to repair just about any Saab! I have to add that I have not

personally seen any vehicle older than a Saab 99 in the shop. This may be

partly due to the fact that Saabs were not sold new in Canada until about

1974. I have seen quite a few newer Saabs though, so the two local

dealerships may not be happy to read this. I have also seen many repeat

customers in his lot since becoming a regular customer myself. And many of

these vehicles are very well looked after. I drive a 1985 900 Turbo 16S(AKA

an "SPG" in some markets) and the repair success rate has always been VERY

high indeed at Swedish Auto Sport. The repair rates at "SAS" are presently

$72.00 per hour. Bob often does not charge labor for reasonable requests to

investigate problems or to do minor adjustments.
