Swedish Car Service/Best of Europe (Closed - See Note Below) 261 West Union Avenue Bound Brook Closed - See note below Sad news that Tibor, the owner of Swedish Car Service/Best of Europe has passed away in March 2016. You can see from the postive reviews below that he will be missed by all. There is also a thread about this on the General bulletin board: Click Here This is to inform all that the Swedish car service offers the best and latest repairs and diagnosis for all Saab cars. The shop is centrally located for NJ and NY customers, only approx 1/2 mile from interstate 287. Tibor Amrus, the owner, is a certified Saab technician with at least 12 years experience. Please stop by for the most reasonable prices, courteous and professional service. Or simply to check out the wonders of tech2. A satisfied customer! Submitted by Keith W. Tibor Ambrus is a gem! He's been a Saab mechanic for 12 years, the last 5 years with his own shop. He just moved his shop to a new location this year in Bound Brook, just past interstate 287. Tibor is a skilled diagnostician, and has kept 5 of our Saabs over the years in fine condition. Steve's '87 9000 now has 324,000 miles and shows no signs of retiring! I can't imagine owning a Saab without Tibor, who's conscientious attention to every detail, skill and very reasonable prices make maintaining a Saab easy. Submitted by Stephen & Jackie S. Very good service at a fair price! Tibor and his staff are very knowledgeable and honest. And Tibor will talk your ear off about SAABs. It is hard to get away! Submitted by Paul H. Just had a new clutch installed in a day by Tibor Ambrus on my 91 9000s. Was very impressed with his shop (small but very clean and organized). His price was over $300 less than the dealer for the same job, and probably done with more TLC. I recommend his work. Submitted by John A. This place is fantastic and Tibor is the MAN. He took great care of my 87 900s. One morning on my way to work the car was beginning to run rough. I exited off 287 before my normal exit and pulled into his shop. He had me off an running perfectly within an hour. Tibor is very knowledgeable and trustworthy, certainly a man of character. I highly recommend his services. He is now taking care of my 88 9000s with a 192k miles and running very well. Submitted by Lou P. If you live in Central NJ, this is the place to go. Tibor recently replaced my two head cylinders and my car actually purrs (a '99 95 Wagon V6 - engine blew when timing belt tensioner broke). Other mechanics, including SAAB dealer, recommended putting in used engine, but Tibor right away said that he would replace the cylinders, valves, etc., - he didn't think I needed to scrap the entire engine! The cost was a little less than replacing the engine and I wasn't buying an engine I knew nothing about. Tibor did a tremendous job! I am relying on him to keep my SAAB running for at least another 100K. He says I should expect it to go for another 200K! Submitted by Marian H.
Sweet Motors (Verified 2019-20) 403 Howard Blvd. Mt. Arlington (973) 252-5151 Email: Click Here Web: sweetmotorsauto.com Official Saab Service Center and parts dealer. Jerry Sweet, Saab specialist since 1984. Thought I would share my experience with Sweet Motors - in a word: excellent! I brought my 9-5 up to Jerry (it's about a two hour drive) over the summer with a laundry list of things that I wanted checked out/done, and I couldn't be happier with the results and the experience! The most important things were that there were some items that I had previously been told were 'normal' or 'that's just how those cars are' which were actually fixable - and Jerry fixed them (perfect example: I had had the a/c system charged in January and was told it was normal for these cars to need the a/c charged every so often; Jerry found the issue - the evaporator was leaking - and fixed it)! Although it's not an easy drive, it's a sacrifice I'm willing to make to ensure my Saab gets the attention it needs and deserves! Submitted by Chip Fichot Jerry Sweet at Sweet Motors is a knowledgeable SAAB mechanic and seems to be very reliable. Prices are reasonable and I'll definitely return when I need additional service. Submitted by Barry Lerich Jerry Sweet at Sweet Motors is a find. After returning home from college last summer, I needed to find an honest and reasonable Saab mechanic. I was referred to Jerry by a friend and couldn't be happier. He is honest, courteous, fast, and dependable. I only wish I had known about him earlier. Submitted by Greg Andres Jerry Sweet is hands down, THE best Saab mechanic I have used. He always fixes it right and at very reasonable rates. And yes, he's honest. Jerry used to be a service manager at a large Saab dealer, but now runs his personal shop with pride and integrity you won't find many places. Submitted by Jonny Slumpff When my current 9000 bites the dust, I'll have to buy another SAAB just so that I can keep bringing my car to Jerry Sweet. I can't imagine anyone better to deal with. Submitted by Dennis Schuchman What's in a name? Sweet-natured fellow (albeit understated), sweet mechanic, totally sweet running car, very sweet value, precious and sweet sense of satisfaction that there's still truth to be found in the Saab maintenance universe. Do yourself and your car a favor...pay a visit to this shop. And be nice; we don't want anyone messing with our mechanic. Submitted by Todd and Kelly Knowles Jerry is an excellent mechanic whose rates are much cheaper than the dealerships. Dependable and reliable, Jerry has kept my SPG in excellent shape. Whereas other mechanics would be baffled for hours trying to figure out the problem, Jerry is fast and honest. I recommend him without any reservations. Submitted by TJ Jackson
