Because of what this part is and what it does, don't mess around. In fact if any of you value what I say and you have upto a 1994 9000 with the 3 wire thermal sensor for your radiator fan, get and use this part. In the long run it will pay for itself many times over. I also recommend a 82C thermostat "OE waxstat or Whaler as 2nd choice" and Mercedes antifreeze. Also if you really want to be safe - replace the top radiator hose and the heater hose that exits the back of the head, pointed toward the battery. Both these hoses take a beating as the hot coolant exits the motor through these hoses. If your Saab has a 2.3L motor, you want to keep it from ever overheating as the tensioner rail for the balance shafts chain will melt. I have talked to many through the years that had timing chain failure and just about all of them had overheated the motor to one degree or another within the last 30 days. All the Saabs I service and work on - and not once has one of my customers had a chain failure. On the issue of cold thermostat: Mercedes uses 80C in many of its cars including its flagship 560 series. Please note that ALL proceedes go to support The Saab Network. See the instructions for configuring the 3 wire sensor at the listed URL linked below!
