Dan Chasins bids farewell after more than a decade of service to Saab
Norcross, Ga. - Saab Automobile AB announced the resignation of Dan Chasins, Executive VP of Future Products.
"We appreciate Dan's many contributions to Saab over the past 11 years, during which he held key executive positions both in Trollhattan and in the U.S.," said Peter Augustsson, CEO of Saab Automobile AB. "We wish him well in the future."
Chasins first joined Saab in 1992 as the Director of Marketing for Saab Cars USA. He later served in Sweden for four years as Vehicle Line Executive for the Saab 9-5 range. Upon his return to the U.S., Chasins was named COO of Saab Cars USA in 1999, and then President and COO in 2000.
Under Chasins' leadership, Saab Cars USA's retail sales volume grew approximately 30 percent from 1998 to 2002.
In September of 2002, Debra Kelly-Ennis succeeded Chasins to lead Saab Cars USA. She was previously the marketing general manager at Oldsmobile. Chasins then became the Executive VP of Future Products. The company reports that Chasins cited personal reasons preventing his relocation to Sweden for what would have been his second assignment at Saab's global headquarters.
