I have an '82 900Turbo and a '94 900SE V-6. The performance of the 2 cars is comparable on average, though the response of the turbo engine is much different than that of the V-6. The V-6 has better low-end torque, but the turbo has better high-end response. Nevertheless, the V-6 will continue to accelerate past red line to the ignition cutout without complaint. Since the V-6 is comparable to an 8-valve turbo, I assume your conclusion that it is sluggish in comparison to the 16-valve turbo is accurate. OTOH, it is not a slug in comparison to the market in general. I have a 1988 900Turbo and would gladly take on any new 900V6. My opinion is the old style 900 engines (Turbo) of course are much more powerful. I'm surprised no one informed you that if you were going to get a SAAB, you have to opt for the big "T" -- John Weiss Seattle, WA
