Second best (that I could think of) was my remedy which involved pulling the visor off of the spindle, wrapping a thick rubber band around the contact length of the spindle and pushing the visor back on over it. That made enough tension to keep the visor in position. Since I had to re-do it a few times, this might be thought of as a "temporary solution".
