Diane, It looks like we're still working away at this. Mine has failed to start several times now without being locked, opening the trunk, or even having driven it. So I guess it doesn't have anything to do with the anti-theft device afterall. I'm beginning to think that the problem may be in the ignition switch. Yesterday I finally got the right screwdriver to remove the plastic cowling around the switch. I may get the replacement part that you mentioned in an earlier post. I'll also try your son's suggestion next time. Meanwhile I'm driving around with an ice pack on the cowling (I've noticed that on several occasions when it wouldn't start that the ignition switch was too hot to touch, just from having the sun shining on it). I've only had one problem since doing that and it only lasted a minute or two. I contacted SAAB headquarters and they just said to go to a dealer. Will probably give a dealer a call this week.
