See http://www.townsendimports.com/climate_control_folder/9000heatercore.htm. This is dealing with a heater core, but to do the heater core, you remove the fan. Just skip the parts about draining the coolant. you would do well however to at least remove and check the heater caore while the fan is out. After you're that far, the core just pulls out, nothing else to disassemble. You replace the fan and heater core in a 9000 from the engine compartment, going at it from the inside of the car is impossible. the most engine mount movement you might have to do is remove the 14 mm bolt going through the upper torque arm on the right side to allow the motor to move forward a bit. If you remove the parts as described on our website, you don't have any interference after freeing the oil dipstick tube from its upper mount. If you try to cheat the removal by leaving the evaporator in place, you will have a h**l of a time and will probably break something if you're not extremely lucky/careful.
