Bob, If the A/C compressor is replaced, the receiver/drier and expansion valve should be replaced too. In fact, the warranty on my replacement compressor was contingent on those two parts being replaced too. Besides, it just makes sense. For any one of those three, the system needs to be evacuated and recharged. It just makes sense to do it all at once. When my A/C compressor was replaced in May, the compressor cost me $286.15. The receiver/drier, expansion valve and one pound of Freon cost me $117. The Freon was $50. Ken Washington
