Michael, Definatley an improvement especialy if you are running on a none saab replacement exhaust - these generaly produce too much back pressure which stops the turbo spooling up quickly ie it increases turbo lag. A proper sports exhaust reduces the back pressure which means you get better throttle response and a bit more top end power. The turbo also lasts a bit longer. It will probably sound more 'throaty' at low speed but you probably won't notice any change on the open road and at speed. A cheap alternative which I have done to my 85 900T16 is to replace the center box with a straight through pipe ( 60mm/ 2.5 inch ) which is avaiable from any exhaust suppliers. This will slot into the flange on the back box - cut your down pipe just infront of the exhaust tuunel and attach the two together with a short length of 63mm section ( remember to slit the outer section about an inch at each end with a saw cut so it will tighten up with some exhaust clamps. You will also get better ground clearance. This is of course not relevent if you are running with a cat or your stateside laws don't like nice sounding exhaust notes. John
