I was just out shopping for snow tires this afternoon and came across some interesting information. I went to a shop with the intent to purchase Nokian Hakka 1's. The owner said that after over 20 years of carrying Nokian's, he was not selling them anymore because Nokia sold the tire division and the tires being sold were manufactured by Hankook. He told me that the Vredestein Snowtracs were a far superior tire with directional tread and Silicon II technology. I always thought that there was no substitue for a deep aggressive tread pattern. I guess things change. I was also told that Gislaved made an excellent snow tire. So anyways, which tire should I buy? I want a tire that is exceptional in deep snow. I'd appreciate any and all responses from anyone who's ever owned Hakka 1's, Vredestein Snowtracs, or Gislaved NordFrost's. Thanks in advance to all who respond.
