Hi Saab guru's, I recently had a cooling hose pop on our Saab 900 79 model (no turbo) and the engine overheated (for a short time), soon after I noticed temp fluctuations from 3/4 down to 1/4 within seconds and noticed the car was blowing white smoke and going through anti-freeze (oil appeared to have water in it) so I figured that the head was cracked or the head gasket had blown BUT when taking off the inlet manifold, I see that coolant fluid passes through the inlet manifold and that it is possible for the coolant fluid to get into the piston chamber through the inlet valves - The reason I ask is because all 4 cylinders had perfect compression (100 psi) and I would hate to take the head off if it is OK. Any help or ideas would be muchly appreciated. TIA. Shaun. Shaunkknopsamail.com
