I love the 99. It's the only model car I've ever owned (two in two years), and moving on to newer models will be a hard thing to do. I love the hood, those sculpted lines over the wheels are beautiful. I wish I had more money to spruce up the body a little, I love seeing restored 99 turbos around. Mine's a green 3-door '75 LE, and I had a 5-speed put in when I first got it - it bolts right in, no problems at all. Anybody who wants to put a 5-speed in, write me at celingnopsamdu if you have any questions...long live the 99 - Chris Virginia Tech Architecture > I haven't noticed any letters from 99 owners, so I thought I'd send one in, > I've got a 1978 99 EMS hatchback, burgundy with a factory moon roof and > those sweet looking soccer ball wheels, probably the finest looking Saab > model ever made, the biggest mistake ever from Saab, was going from the > beautiful short sculpted hood on the 99s to the boxy long hood on the 900s. > Winding her out on a nice twisty back road makes for the finest driving > experience you could ever imagine.
