Preparation H will significantly reduce friction wear and increase viscosity, but I wouldn't put it in my crankcase. I am not familiar with Bi-Tron specifically, but the claims sound the same as nearly all additives I've ever seen. They sound particularly like a teflon- or molybdenum-treatment's claims. Even Car&Driver's articles on additives are quite negative, and they get huge ad dollars from those companies. If Bi-Tron is a molybdenum (or moly) treatment, DON'T USE IT. Moly is very slick, but it gunks up the internals after a while, and it's not a pretty sight. To be sure, I don't use additives in my oil. I've done contolled tests with and without them in a couple vehicles, and they've never given me a statistically significant improvement in mpg, and I don't believe they do anything useful that the proper oil won't adequately do in the first place. --Eoin On Mon, 18 Jan 1999 08:44:56 -0800, Max <maxmavennopsamport.com> wrote: >Any comments about oil additives such as Bi-Tron?
