Mobil 1 is good to about -30 F before it causes extended "dry start". Ive used it in Minnesota and Maine with great success. I concur on your additive comments. A well mantained, Mobil 1 lubricated engine of good design should last 250K mi why should I spend hundreds of dollars to extend that to 260K Mi ??? P.T.
