Tammy, If you don't want to buy "Z" rated tires you don't have to. You can drop to a V or H rated tire. The tires will ride different and last longer because of the harder compound, but that is the trade off. When I bought my first Saab 900T in 83', it came with the Pirelli P6s, which were trash. They lasted 28,000 miles. I replaced them with Good Year Eagle GTs, and they lasted 28,000 miles. Now I use an off brand made my Kelly Springfield, a subsidiary of Good Year. I get 40,000 to 60,000 miles a set and they cost me about $300 mounted and balanced. Unless you do a lot of high speed driving or autocross, the Z rating is overkill. Expensive overkill.
