My 98 900SE will NEVER turn the service message off by itself. You need to hold the CLEAR button for 8 seconds (not 4 seconds, which will clear the mileage data and fuel economy history). You will see a message like "SERVICE RESET" or "SERVICE CLEAR". If you are off-timing with your service history, this message will appear sooner than expected. It is just a timer, not an indication that there is a problem. I don't know how to help with the temp problem...sorry. shec <shecfrnopsamspring.com> wrote in message news:7gj7ev$81f$1nopsam9.atl.mindspring.net... > It will go away by itself.....it does not need > to be turned off by the dealer. > > > adrianbeard wrote in message <372cd51anopsam2.vip.uk.com>... > >94 900 SE - I was just about to service the car myself when the warning > >"Time for service" came up on the dash. > > > >Can this be reset myself or is there some secret button that only a Saab > >garage knows about? > > > >Also, the outside temperature reading seems to have become very high - > >where's the sensor? > > > >Thanks, > >Adrian. > > > > > >
