The Clutch in my 1995 900s was just replaced. Prior to the replacement, it was quite stiff also, but afterwards it had become similar in effort to the clutch in my wife's Honda CR-V. The pressure plate, friction plate, and throwout bearing were replaced and I suspect that the mechanic lubricated some moving parts in the mechanism before bolting it all back together. It was like driving a different car afterward. By the way, the clutch was replaced after only 65,000 km when it was discovered that it was over 80% worn during a warrantee replacement of the engine main seal. No labour charges, just parts, as Saab was paying for the seal job. Given that the clutches in my previous cars (Toyotas) lasted 165,000 km and 205,000km without needing replacement, I'm not too impressed with the longevity of the Saab variety. Todd
