Umm... no... The e is for eta... low revving high torque engines. They were all injected. The i is the injected, higher performance models. If you ever out drag a 525e, and you have to rev your ca5 hard to fdo it, you shouldn't feel proud... cos those "e" engines only rev to about 4.5K-5K rpm... not up in high performance teritory... but not slugs either -- Allan Williams 3 things you need to know: Laughing gas from the dentist can make you do things you normally wouldn't.
