Hi all, I have an opportunity to buy an '85 Saab 900 Turbo; I'd like to get some opinions whether or not I should. The car is very high mileage, and there are no maintenance records (the current owners say they've done their own maintenance, and it does have the appearance of a well-maintained car). What concerns me is that there seems to be a small oil leak which stops soon after the car is shut off. Does anyone have any idea what this might be and how difficult it would be to fix? A few other things: It needs a new muffler (I was quoted $136 for this, so that's no big deal), the transmission seems difficult to get into gear sometimes (worn synchros?), and nothing major has been replaced for the past few years (am I going to get stuck replacing everything?) The car is beautiful inside and out, rides very smoothly, the engine is very strong and the breaks seem to be in very good shape too. What's your opinion? Thanks in advance.
