That does sound a little expensive, not to mention that I'd think twice (3 times, 4 times...) about trusting AAMCO with my Saab transmission. For comparison, you can get a factory rebuilt automatic installed in a 9000 for $1800 for the box and $1000 labor. Very best bet is to find a good independent mechanic and get them to install a rebuilt from Eriksson Industries in Connecticut. They do the best rebuild jobs, and I think they even cost a few less $$ than the Saab unit.
