In my personal experience, I have found them to be neither more nor less competent than any other "quickie" oil change type of place. I have a feeling that Jiffy Lube gets a bad name and reputation just because they are one of the biggest competitors in the industry. I hardly think Jiffy Lube deserves the blame for not being able to loosen a drain plug that they were not responsible for having been overtightened in the first place. If you (not *you* personally, but others in general) do not change your own oil (which I highly suggest as it's one of the easiest car maintenance jobs around), I highly recommend taking it to a trusted mechanic, whether that be the dealer, an independent, a local gas station, or (gasp!) Jiffy Lube. -Doug
