My limited understanding of the Platinum-type plugs is that there is less electrical resistance than normal plugs. This means that the spark jumps faster. And this means that the sparks' duration is shorter. This can't be good. I've read recently that when moving to Plats, you have to adjust the plug's gap - but by how much? 0.005"? 0.007"? 0.002"? Trial and error for each car type. (NGK has info on this on their site) Not recommended by those whom I've spoken to (Saab mechanics and postings in other Saab groups).
