>Whats is the hooter valve? The hooter valve is the stock bypass valve. When it goes, it makes a "hooting" sound much like an owl, so I've heard. Personally, When I replaced all the ducts' seals, I didn't do the stock bypass and went with a blow-off valve. Wow, with all theses ducks, owls and seals, I should be a member of the Sierra Club. Some ideas to tweak a stock APC instead of the aftermarket ones: Adjust max pressure and duration of boost. remove RPM sensor so the APC doesn't "bleed off" boost at higher engine speeds. Adjust fuel cutoff (pressure sensor in/under dash) so it doesn't stop at approx 1Bar. I have not yet done the latter, yet. Just waiting for the motor to get finished and toying with a few ideas. Personally, I don't think an aftermarket APC is worth the money. There are other ways to get these things faster and allocating the money elsewhere. YMMV. -ray 80 BMW 323i 8?
