Mark, The calibration of the gauge seems to vary a bit. Don't know if it's a car-to-car variation, or if it's different by year/model. I had a 1980 900T and a 1986 SPG, and on both cars, the border between yellow and red was exactly 10PSI. The top of the red was 20PSI. I now have a 1986 9000T, and the border between yellow and red is about 12PSI. Best bet, as another poster indicated, is to buy/borrow an accurate boost gauge and tap into the line going to the dash gauge with a "T" fitting, and observe both at the same time. If you have a classic 900, this is really, easy, just remove the speaker grille above the dash and you can get access to the hose going to the boost gauge. Bit harder on a 9000. Standard max. boost varies from model to model, and with the mood of the APC system. On a 2.0-liter 16-valve, somewhere between 9 and 12 PSI would be normal. Converting from bar to PSI is easy, 1 bar = 1 atmosphere = 14.7PSI. Happy boosting!
