I'm driving a Neon now and my wife can't see out the back. She's about 5' 3". The car is OK, but since she hates it, it'll be the next car to be replaced. We want a hatchback or wagon, and the only American (designed) car I'd buy is Saturn, but they don't seem fun. So, here's what I want. I'm looking for: fun to drive, 5-speed, reliable, decent fuel economy, < $30k, good snow handling (I'm in Cleveland, OH), and decent storage space. My choices look to be: Volvo V40 Volvo V70 - more than I'd like to pay for a car Saab 9-3 VW Passat Wagon Audi A4 Avant Are Accord or Camry wagons available? From reading carpoint and alt.autos.saab it looks like I can get a really sweet deal (as in dealers will negotiate) on a 9-3. I guess V40's are going at sticker. And they're not available in 5-speed in the US... So, how's reliability on the 9-3? How is visibility in a 9-3 for a short driver? Any comments on the other choices? Also, where can I find european delivery prices? Volvo lists them on their website. I can't seem to find any Saab euro delivery prices? are they near invoice like Volvo?
