you could be losing a torbo seal. but you said black smoke which is usually a fuel related problem. white smoke is coolant, or (heaven forbid) auto tranny fluid(in which case your in trouble)-back to the problem, We need more to go on. Do you suffer a performance loss, have you been getting bad gas mileage, Hard starting. One bad cyl miss fire. What is your idea for a "smoke out the tail pipe?"
