By truth you mean... ? There is no need to spend more money on a SAAB-labeled filter than on a regular AC filter (which SAAB's now are. They used to be Mann, but not now). It's not any better than the AC because it is the AC. If you mean as far as warranty coverage, they are prevented, in America, by federal law from requiring you to buy only their parts. They can require you to use parts that meet certain specifications, but it cannot have anything to do with the name. Tons of aftermarket filter brands work properly and meet their specs, so use what you feel comfortable with.
