Sometime back I read a newslisting saying that the rear speakers on some 9000 models are out of phase with those in the front. I finally got around to reversing the wires to the rear speakers on my 94 CSE using crimp on quick connects from Radio Shack. What a difference! The old Clarion System now rivals my sweetheart's Bose system in her Millenia. Here I have been driving all these years just assuming that it was a mediocre sound system. To test your system from the driver's seat turn the balance control all the way to the right speakers then fiddle with the fader control while listening to a voice or solo instrument. If the speakers are in phase there should be a strong "stereo image" when the front an back are about equal in output. That is, the sound will seem to come from a point between the speakers and not from the speakers themselves. If the speakers are out of phase there will be no focal point and the sound seems to be either from one or the other speaker or no particular place at all depending upon where the fader control is set. Its well worth checking this out. Has anyone else noticed the problem? The three 900s that we had in my family did not have this problem. Best regards, R. Frist
