Opinion? I think it's pretty much "fact" that Saabs maintenance is on the pricey side....and for good reason....limited supply. Open any phone book and look at all the "German Auto Repair" shops, the "Japanese Auto Repair", etc., and the like. If you're lucky....there might be a couple of Saab/Volvo concentrated shops. A side from the dealers (and many of them are questionable).. there's just a handful of real Saab mechanic pros who "know" the cars. It's not really that hard to find a solid BMW mechanic or even a Porsche mechanic.....but a Saab mechanic?....far and few between. Same goes for the makers of 3rd party parts, salvage yards for used parts, etc....this is just part of the deal when you buy/own a Saab.
