I drove a new Sabb 9-5 Aero last week in my quest for a new sedan. The engine is fast, but noisy... The interior is somewhat comfortable, The seats are too flat. The torque steer is lame.. The raquet on the highway is unbelieveable for an upper end vehicle. Brakes didnt feel so hot. I have a friend who has a 98 900 SE convertible and the thing only has 36K miles on it, but it idles rough (even warm) and over bumps the damn thing shakes like every piece is held with glue. It seems like GM has their hands too deep into the world of Saab because quite honestly the thing resembles some fit and finish of a rental Malibu I drove a couple months ago. Nothing personal, and while I respect Saab's legacy, I think that as of now they have falling back with respect to technology, quality control, and value. I decided to go with a 01' E320.. While a little bit slower (much heavier) and about 7K more expensive.. the quality differences are tremendous.
