Last week the water pump on my 92 900 (normally aspirated) blew and the engine overheated. It happened on the highway and we stopped quickly, but it appears that the head gasket blew and the head is likely warped. My mechanic says that it is unlikely that the engine / head can be saved and recommends a replacement engine. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has had experiences, either good or bad with rebuilds, regrinding the block etc. in this kind of situation and advice on choices (rebuild, replace the head, replace the whole engine...) Thanks in advance
