All this talk of Saab vs. Toyota keeps getting me thinking about what a great car I own. Two years ago, I bought a 1984 Saab 900 S hatchback with 103K miles on the ticker for $825. The engine is in great shape, I have all repair records. I change/check ALL fluids regularly, including gear box. It doesn't burn a drop of oil and I rarely have to add between changes every 3K - 5K miles. Since buying it, I have put in a new clutch ($490); redone all brakes inc. master cylinder (about $1200 total); put in new shocks and springs in rear (about $500) and done a few minor maintanance things. These were all normal wear-and-tear items that were bound to go after 100K mi. Now, the car absolutley rips driving and is rock-solid at 80mph on the freeway. It carries anything I want it to, and the Thule racks on top carry anything else. It is also the raddest looking car on the road (translation for overseas readers: rad = cool, very good, the best; rip = fast, high-performance). I own the best car ever made! ;) -jw -- 1984 900 S hatchback, 135K mi. Rhode Island
