Probably OK. It is difficult to even get 'chunks of head gasket' in the exhaust path, but apparently possible. Mine had a slow leak for a while. then light coolant smell in the exhaust. Head gasket replacement went fine and the car runs the same as before. The biggest problem is making sure that the cylinder does not fill up with coolant causing severe engine damage when it is turned over or so much coolant in the oil that it trashes bearings.
