My 1986 SAAB 900 Turbo 5-speed w/leather seats and sunroof has bad drivers and Mile Hi says $1,100 to fix it. Kelly blue book says after fixing it it would be worth about $1,600. And then when the A/C goes out (R-12 is now $60/lb)... Is 1994 the first year for R-134a refrigerant? I was thinking of either a 9000 or another 900 hatchback. Looks like it will cost around $7,000 or so. I live at 6,300 ft and drive mostly that and higher elevations so the turbo is a must. So is A/C, 5-speed manual. Any years to stay a way from? Some years better than others? Other suggestions? I've had this car for almost 8 years but if it is going to need a lot of work and money it might be better to replace it with something more modern. Thanks, Charles.
