Hi Ed, Had a similar problem with my climate control display on my 1998 9-5SE - not impressed that the pix were all over the place - electrical items should not fail so quickly. It would have cost me nearly £200 to replace the damn thing. Car was just out of warranty so I first approached the dealer who was sympathetic but because the car was out of warranty couldn't do anything. I had noticed several folks on the newsgroup were complaining about missing pix and did read somewhere that SAAB were aware of the problem but didn't seem to do anything about it. Armed with this I approached SAAB GB and politely complained that I thought it unfair that I had to replace something that lots of SAAB owners were having problems with and that SAAB themselves were aware of the problem. Kept it nice and polite and struck a deal where I paid 25% of the replacement cost and SAAB picked up the rest. Lincoln SAAB in the UK (my local dealer) went one step further in my favour and offered to fit it for free! Cost me about £70 in the end. You might want to try the same approach (precedent set etc etc).
