In the USA, an "artistic work" has an implied copyright even if it does not explicit a copyright clause. HOWEVER, nobody anywhere could insist that a letter or email was and "artistic work" and it would therefore not be copyrighted unless specifically noted (I'm leaving out letters with poetry, etc.) Unless the letter contains trade-secret or confidential company information it is not covered under copyright law unless it has a copyright clause. So, reposting an email from Saabnet's Ultimate Ruler would not violate any copyright. Bob
