I prefer manual transmissions and while Volvo lists manual transmissions as available, there are usually none to test drive. Saab, on the other hand, tends to have more manuals available, so you could actually test drive one before you spend that kinds of money. Drive the cars and decide which one meets your requirements. I currently own a Saab and an older Volvo. Just my personal opinion, I think Saab has done a better job with front wheel cars than Volvo. Volvo made excellent rear wheel drive cars that run forever. It was a Volvo technician who told me about the shorter life expectancy and higher repair costs of the front wheel drive Volvos. The Volvo technician will not drive a front wheel drive Volvo. The Saab technician I take my Saab to for service drives a Saab. What does that tell you? Both of these technicians have over 20 years specialized work experience their respective makes and ought to know them. "Raymond J.
