"Were you here a while ago? I remember someone asking about this, where the dealer had turned down the turbo to compensate for a slipping clutch, was that you?" Yes-it was. I refuse to believe that these reputable service people would do such a thing-ECM schism?? And for the life of me,now I can't get the overrev thing to happen-I went down to the garage(same one) on Friday for a few minor repairs(boot lid struts, oil leak/gauge sender U/S). It struck me that I should have been doing these jobs myself that's why I asked about the Turbo. Laziness and fear of the oily stuff I'm afraid-I used to work on my motors a lot. With respect and thanks Dave I think the turbo adjustment may be best left to the experts-from reading your description. I'd hate to balls it up.I will however print them off and have a nose all the same(trying to resist the temptation at the same time)!! The Saab has done 164k-the service guy seems to think it's on it's last legs??-but other than the engine performance everthing is intact,it's a lovely car-spotless for it's age(Metallic silver 2 door)-the performance is OK-I just know there is a lot more in the locker.I'm gonna take it to another garage for a quick wastegate opening-see what happens from there. Thanks for your time. All the best-DG.
