I had this ~18 months ago, for a quick fix I just adjusted the cable at the handbrake lever end - that was OK for the MOT inspector. When I checked the caliper I found that the OSR caliper was weeping fluid so I replaced it. Where did you adjust the handbrake cable? at the lever end or at the caliper? The correct procedure is to adjust the caliper screw until the brake binds and then back it off 1/4 - 1/2 a turn so that the disc is free to rotate. Then if necessary adjust the cable at the handbrake lever. Worth checking.
