I can appreciate a sensitivity to certain acronyms; however, the SS combination has been used successfully after the 1940/50's. Examples; SS = Super Sonic in the aerospace market. SS = Super Sport for cars/trucks/motorcycles. And SS = Stainless Steel in many industrial markets. Maybe by using SS more frequently, we can "reclaim" the acronym (while not forgetting) its use from a darker period in time...
