A few years ago I looked into getting a used 9000, and the 2-3 examples I brought in for inspection all had some fairly high dollar problems with the engines - especially the 2 manuals I managed to find (I was looking 3 years ago at cars from about 94-95). The mechanic friend that was inspecting for me said that some Saab owners, like some BMW owners, drive the heck out of their cars without taking proper care of them, hence my previous post. This risk is removed if you get he car new, and is a concern if you get the car used like I tried. Ended up saving my pennies and getting one new which for me works out best.
